Description

Join us for a multi-level clean experience, with six of the world’s leading clean practitioners. Whether you choose to work on your own personal development, or focus on learning more about clean modelling, this will be a fantastic Clean Learning opportunity.

The event will centre around personal therapeutic development sessions. Everyone who attends will be facilitated by one of us for at least one session on a topic of their choice. If personal development is your main purpose for attending, you’ll be able to gain from several sessions over the course of the weekend. We’ll be using Clean LanguageSymbolic Modelling, Clean Space and Emergent Knowledge to facilitate your personal journey of insight, clarity and change.

Between your own development sessions, you can reflect, write, draw, walk, talk with other participants, observe others’ sessions, ask questions or coach someone else and be supervised by one of us. There will be several things going at once. At times we will work in pairs, observing and asking each other modelling questions to learn more about how we each work. You’ll be able to observe all of this and to ask them your own modelling questions during the debrief sessions. This includes modelling what was happening in the facilitator’s mind as they were working with the client as well as modelling the unfolding structure of the session and the client’s journey.

Expand description

Please note that this is a group event and all sessions will open for everyone to observe and participate. Everyone who attends the event will be expected to take part in at least one personal development session.

Testimonials

What a mind-blowing, life-changing experience! I knew the Adventures in Clean would change me in some way; I know how powerful the process is. Getting through and beyond a bind that has bothered me for some time has been a profound experience for me. Being able to find my voice and feel comfortable in voicing my opinion is also a great experience. Being able to model top Clean Language facilitators was also a rich experience as I witnessed many other peers who seem to have similar experiences to mine (judging by their smiling faces on the last day!) I'd like to thank the entire team, Marian, Caitlin, Shaun, Penny & James for their professionalism in organising this event and pulling off in a very well-orchestrated manner! As well as Marcus' awesome bodywork! Really helped my back condition many thanks! Shaun's fabulous meals – kept us feeling nourished from within as well. Enjoying the experience with the other attendees, my peers, also made the experience an even richer journey. The whole homely yet professional supportive Clean Learning environment was a most welcome experience. If you have taken Clean Language training and would not only like to see Clean Language in action by experienced professionals and/or have discovered areas in your personal life that you would like to be addressed, i.e. any blocks (my metaphor!) then Adventures in Clean is a must-have event to attend!

Lorraine Biggs

I’m so glad I listened to my heart and came on this weekend. I enjoyed getting to know myself in a deep way. I am on my authentic/divine path and am letting go of anything that is holding me back! It was also truly fascinating to see how other people tick. Watching the different expert facilitators work was fascinating and the opportunity to ask questions at the end really helped my learning. Great trainers, great group. Thank you for sharing your family home so generously with us. I loved the learning, the sharing, the freedom, the pacing, getting to know new people, the wonderful vegetarian food. It was a totally unique experience and one of the best weekends of my life! I would not change a thing. I loved it!

If there were a Glastonbury festival for the mind, this would be a pass to the backstage party.

Description

Once you have experienced Systemic Modelling as a participant (on our Clean For Teams workshop or equivalent) and are ready to learn how to run the process yourself, you can join this continuous learning programme, leading to Systemic Modelling Level 1 certification. This will give you a complete framework and an abundant toolbox for encouraging teams to move from contempt towards curiosity and collaboration. And we use the process to teach the process so you will be experiencing multi-level and collaborative learning at its best.

Expand description

Regular in-depth and intensive training will enable you to develop competency in applying the principles that underpin Systemic Modelling. You will learn how to use clean questions and metaphor models to support a group to better understand one another and to develop the skills and capability they need to collaborate meaningfully.

You may join in one module (3 days or 5 x 3.5 hours) at a time, or commit to attending four or eight modules (with a price reduction). Joining in on a long-term basis will enable you to explore the process more deeply, including the philosophy behind it and the skills required to deliver it well. There’ll be skill-building exercises to stretch your attention and to develop your confidence and in-the-moment coaching to ensure you’re competent in the process. You’ll be delivering group processes live to fellow participants and you’ll be offering and receiving feedback from trainers and peers. Between modules, you’ll be expected to find groups of your own to practice with. This programme is fun, full-on and focused.

The models and skills that make up Systemic Modelling include: clean questions; developing personal metaphors; group modelling; becoming #DramaFree; pattern detection; tracking patterns in the group dynamic; developing your personal modelling state. There’ll also be plenty of opportunity for discussion about applications and how you’ll put your learning into action.

There is a continuous assessment process, with a number of assignments that will require you to collect and act on feedback from the trainer, your fellow participants and any other recipients of your skills. You can start this process whenever you wish and when we are confident in your ability to deliver the models consistently and effectively, you will be awarded your Systemic Modelling Level 1 Certificate.

  • Someone who believes that change starts with yourself
  • Looking for group-facilitation or teaching methods that will:
      • Reduce conflict or bullying and create a culture of collaboration
      • Create a learning culture that honours and utilises diversity

      • Develop shared metaphors for visions, values, projects – anything that matters to the group
      • Get away from drama situations and hidden agendas and encourage outcomes, actions and feedback
      • Help people move from contempt to curiosity to collaboration

What will I gain?

  • The Systemic Modelling framework, models and tools and how to run them effectively
  • The ability to pay attention to language and behaviours at an individual and group level and to be able to utilise what happens in a group to help them to achieve their desired outcomes
  • More information about your own patterns of thinking, behaviour, attitude and identity and how these relate to other people’s patterns
  • An understanding of the role that language, especially metaphor, plays in group thinking, and how you can utilise that to create deep sustainable change

Testimonials

Systemic Modelling has been a real eye-opener for me, to see the levels that feedback can be taken to. Your ability, as coaches, to be precise, warm, constructive, observant & honest, along with your cooperation, which seemed completely relaxed & open, created lots of safety for me &, I think, for the group. You took our needs & wishes into consideration whilst keeping us moving forward & covering the materials. The clarity of your communication & the lightness of your tone, makes the work seem light even when it feels hard.

Soren Holm, Master Coach & Trainer

This training was pure excellence in every respect. The authority and power of Caitlin's skill base, complemented by the range of experienced mentors in our midst was a superb context for the highest quality teaching. The balance of concept coverage and experiential learning was skilfully gauged, the connections created between delegates and trainers, the insightful guidance and warm challenges offered along the way, all conspired to enable learning, at its very best, for all. 'Clean' by its nature creates this, enabling listening at the highest level to create common vision and harness awareness, but the quality of delivery, the privilege of experiencing all of this through and with Caitlin and her team, in her home, with such honouring hospitality, resulted in a learning experience second to none. This training creates deep, unforgettable change and I, my workplace and my home will be the better for it. Thank you.

Amanda Maney, , Assistant Head Teacher

This course has given me fabulous strategies and the confidence to help teams be more effective. Systemic Modelling enables teams to get to the real issues of why they aren't working as well and to create their own solutions. A must for facilitators, coaches and trainers working with teams.

Description

If you are a coach or a manager - or working towards being one - join us for our ILM Level 5 Certificate in Effective Coaching and Mentoring to learn foundational clean coaching methodologies along with other robust coaching tools, to inspire capability in others and coach them for success. Gain a coaching qualification recognised by the ILM, who set the standard for industry-recognised, accredited leadership and management qualifications. Clean coaching is a person-centred approach.

This course consists of 3 training modules of 2 days each (total of 42 contact teaching hours), 4 x 1-hour webinars, 15 hours of peer coaching practice, 18 hours of coaching with clients, plus 3 written assignments.

Expand description

We start with an introductory webinar where you will meet your course tutors who will take you through what’s involved in taking this qualification. Then on the first module you will learn what coaching is as well as some basic coaching tools and models. You will also be training your attention to notice your own patterns and those of others in the group, gaining awareness of how we all experience the world in a different way. And you will create Developmental Tasks based on the feedback you receive when taking part in coaching practice. By the end of the module you will be practising a whole coaching session.

Following these initial days, you will start your coaching practice and will take part in peer group supervision with your fellow participants. There will be another webinar and you will be encouraged to complete your first written assignment which is about coaching and the coaching models you have learned.

The second module is about considering your own strengths and weaknesses as a coach, based on the evidence so far. You will also learn how to use clean questions to elicit models for learning at your best, managing time, making good decisions, and controlling your state. These activities will improve your own self-awareness as well as adding to your repertoire of coaching tools and ideas. There will also be continued practice of the skills.

Your coaching and peer group supervision will continue after this and you will also start compiling your coaching portfolio.

In the final module, as well as continued practice in the skills you have already learned, along with new coaching models, there will be a chance to reflect on your journey so far. We will discuss how to put your skills into practice in the workplace, and what are some of the values and beliefs you hold as a coach. This will help you with the third assignment, a reflective journal.

Upon successful completion of the coaching, supervision and written assignments we will apply for your ILM Level 5 Certificate in Effective Coaching and Mentoring. This qualification is the academic equivalent of completing a Foundation Degree, 2 years of a regular degree or an HND qualification.

The written assignments are 3,500 to 5,000 words each, and you will also be expected to read Clean Approaches for Coaches (Marian Way) and Coaching Skills For Leaders in the Workplace (Jackie Arnold), and to watch Caitlin Walker’s Clean Language and Systemic Modelling DVD. As well as the 6 days of live training, you will also practice and develop your skills through 15 hours of peer group practice (online or in person), 18 hours of work-based coaching, 1 hour of supervision and a reflective journal. You will also need to be able to develop a plan for your future professional development in coaching or mentoring with an in-depth SWOT analysis and a 12-month personal development plan, including monitoring and evaluating your Continuing Professional Development (CPD).

If you wish, you can study for the ILM Level 5 Diploma in Coaching and Mentoring instead. The training and peer group coaching are the same - and you will need to do 54 hours of work-based coaching and 3 hours one-to-one supervision. The written assignments are slightly different.

Testimonials

An absolute must for anyone wanting to improve their coaching and communication skills. Clean Learning’s approach to the course is great and you can take new, easily adaptable skills to both your workplace and personal life.

Kim Koskinen

This course went way beyond what I expected. I had an amazing experience. I was visible and I was listened to and I think that is very hard to achieve in any training. I felt really supported and safe. I now use the skills in large public sector organisations, in focus groups, in networking, in managing conflict, designing interviews and in career work I do in schools.

Victoria Wilken, Business Psychologist

The ILM Level 5 in Effective Coaching & Mentoring course is a practical and thorough introduction to putting Clean Language to work in a precise and purposeful way. Over 3 -day modules we learned how to use apparently simple tools to build emergent models of a client's space, develop clear outcomes, resolve drama and work with Clean Feedback and Developmental Tasks. This course taught skills that cannot be learned from reading Clean Language books. Progress in online study groups between the taught sessions showed both how far my learning had progressed and provided the content for the assignments.

Description

The Rolling Programme starts here...

Once you have experienced Systemic Modelling as a participant (on our Clean For Teams workshop or equivalent) and are ready to learn how to run the process yourself, you can join this continuous learning programme, leading first to Level 0 and then to Level 1 Systemic Modelling certification.

You may join in one module (over 3 whole days or 5 shorter sessions) at a time, or commit to attending four or eight modules (with a price reduction).

During the Level 0 modules our focus will be on the basic skills of using Clean Language to facilitate a group:

  • How to get into – and stay in – a good state for facilitation
  • What’s the minimum you need to say to gain the group’s interest, without imposing your thinking on them
  • What kind of questions work well as ‘openers’ to get the modelling going
  • How to use clean and cleanish questions to accept and extend each person’s response, giving equal attention to all group members
  • How to encourage diverse contributions so everyone feels their ideas are accepted and valuable
  • How to get group members curious about one another’s responses
  • How to use your posture and your voice to draw attention to yourself (when you need more control) and away from yourself (when you have got a network of attention going in the group)
  • How to direct attention to different kinds of information as they emerge
  • How to ensure people get maximum learning from every session and that they leave knowing how they’ll apply what they’ve learned

All of this will be done by following a basic template that you will learn to adapt based on the group’s needs, the opening question and what emerges as you go along. We’ll be integrating the first stages of learning about the other Systemic Models too. For example, you’ll be learning how to give feedback to your fellow participants using the Clean Feedback model and how to create a Developmental Task to make the most of your learning opportunities. And the content (or themes) we’ll be running will come from participants and can include asking about outcomes, senses, drama, brain state etc. – all the models you’ll become even more familiar with if / when you move on to Level 1.

Level 0 is a certification process in its own right and if what you are wanting to do is run small group processes using clean questions, this may be all you need. Those who want the full suite of Systemic Modelling skills and models will be able to move onto Level 1 once they have demonstrated the Level 0 skills and gained their certificate.

Progression

Once you have demonstrated the Level 0 assessment criteria, you can move onto Level 1, which is all about how to deliver the Systemic Modelling models, knowing how they fit together and when to use each one. The format of the Level 1 modules is similar to Level 0, with small group sessions offering plenty of opportunities for you to practise leading the group, including teaching the models. Each practice session is followed by feedback from peers and trainer. The modules will also include sessions taught by the trainer, so you will be taking part in live demonstrations of the work as you learn.

Pre-requisites

To join in at Level 0, you must have completed Clean For Teams or an equivalent (e.g. if we have run a similar programme at your workplace).

You will also find it helpful to have read From Contempt to Curiosity: Creating the Conditions for Groups to Collaborate using Clean Language and Systemic Modelling by Caitlin Walker. This book, which details how Systemic Modelling came into being, contains numerous stories which illustrate how it can be used, along with information about all the models that will be taught on this programme.

Description

Learn a versatile skill that can be used with individuals and groups in any context where you want to obtain high quality information without influencing people’s responses. The tools can be used practically in the fields of recruiting, marketing, sales and research.

We are collaborating on a new book with the draft title, “A Practical Guide to Clean Interviewing” and we’re looking for a group of people already trained in Clean Language & Systemic Modelling who would like to learn Clean Language Interviewing for their own development and who are capable of giving us high-quality feedback on the learning process.

You will learn:

  • The purpose of interviewing cleanly and its costs and benefits.
  • How to use the ‘Cleanness Rating’ to distinguish between classically clean, contextually clean, mildly leading and strongly leading questions.
  • How to frame a Clean Interview and keep it on track.
  • Coding-in-the-moment and ‘parcelling out’ a sentence.
  • How to recognise and code different classes of information.
  • The purpose of repeating back and how often to do this.
  • How to summarise what’s been said and redirect attention.
  • Tips and troubleshooting.

Prior to attending, candidates will need to complete and transcribe 3 x 10-minute interviews.

During the course there will be weekly practice opportunities to fit with different time zones.

To gain a certificate in Clean Interviewing, you will need to submit a further 3 x 10-minute interviews for assessment (using the Cleanness Rating).

Some candidates will be selected for further training to become “Cleanness Rating” assessors for future courses.

Who is it for?

This training is for you if you are:

… and that can be adapted to suit any context.

  • A leader or senior member of any kind of group, team or organisation
  • Anyone interested in how change can happen in groups

      • Reduce conflict or bullying and create a culture of collaboration
      • Create a learning culture that honours and utilises diversity
      • Support a culture of self-management and empowered working within a team

  • The ability to detect when drama is happening within a group and the skills you need to unpack the drama and move beyond it
  • The opportunity to be part of a supportive peer group, where everyone is working together to master the art of Systemic Modelling
  • Continuous professional development as you get feedback on your work and use that to develop unique tasks that help you grow into your role as a group facilitator
  • A Learning Log that will take you, step by step, through the learning process – with space for you to record examples and note achievements – as you work towards your Systemic Modelling Level 1 certificate.

Pre-requisites

The Systemic Modelling Level 1 modules are open to those who have completed the Level 0 certification and to those who started Level 1 before September 2020. If you have any questions about which module to join first, please contact us.

Thank you.

Description

It is twenty-five years since Penny Tompkins and James Lawley first saw remarkable therapist David Grove demonstrate Clean Language and his unique way of working with metaphor. Penny and James’s intensive study of David led to Symbolic Modelling, a method now used throughout the world in therapy, coaching, education, health, research and many other applications.

Facilitating cleanly is a craft and like all crafts there are ‘hidden’ skills that turn a technique into an art form. These series of online workshops explore what happens below the surface, behind the scenes, and inside the mind-body of some of the most experienced clean facilitators on the planet. Join us to find out how Penny and James:

  • Model symbolically
  • Decide what to pay attention to and what to ignore
  • Relate to the client, their inner world and themselves cleanly
  • Get exceptional results even though they are using the same questions as a beginner
Expand description

There are now two InsideClean series available:

Series 1: How do I know what question to ask?

Series 1 was recorded during 2019 and is now available here for you to watch and learn from at your own pace.

Series 2: The Structure of Desire

This invaluable material for mastering the craft of Clean Language and Symbolic Modelling includes four 90-minute workshops:

1. Outcomes: The desire to create - recording available
2. Remedies: The desire to heal - recording available
3. Problems: What are they good for? - recording available
4. Resources: Making use of what you have - join us live on Oct 5, 2020

Each module includes a workshop and a pre-workshop activity to get you in the frame of mind – and lots of post-workshop resources.

Sign up and you will also get access to special bonus material not available elsewhere.

Although our PRO (Problem-Remedy-Outcome) model is at the core of facilitating with Symbolic Modelling, it (along with Resources) represents only a tiny fraction of our thinking about these fundamental aspects of being human. During the 2020 series we unveil much more.

Description

Our Clean Facilitator Programme is designed to enable you to gain the skills you need to use Clean Language, Clean Space and Symbolic Modelling to work confidently with clients and to be able to demonstrate the skills required for Clean Facilitator, Level 1.

Start by discovering what you can about Clean Language, finding out how it works and what excites you about it, and deciding whether you want to go further on this journey. The route you take is up to you and can include attending courses and practice groups, reading, experiencing clean coaching for yourself and joining one of the many social media groups dedicated to clean. Providing you can demonstrate the required skills, there is no obligation to join a particular course or to get to the required level within a particular timeframe.

However, we do of course run training courses that will equip you with the relevant skills:

  • Clean Language: Core Skills will give you all the basics and you’ll learn how to facilitate a Clean Language / Symbolic Modelling session from start to finish. This course is available in-person and online. During the training we encourage participants to set up peer coaching groups amongst themselves so you can begin to get the practice and experience you need.
  • Clean Space training where you will learn how to facilitate another of David Grove’s innovative clean approaches.
  • Symbolic Modelling: Fine Tuning Your Skills - a series of 3-day or 5x webinar modules where you can hone your skills in a small-group setting, until you reach Level 1. Assessment is part of this programme.

The Clean Facilitator Programme package includes Core Skills, Clean Space and 3 Fine Tuning modules.

You can attend these courses at any time, although Core Skills must be completed before you start Fine Tuning.

NB It is possible you will need more than 3 x Fine Tuning modules in order to reach the standard for certification. If so, you will be able to purchase further Fine Tuning modules @ £400 (plus VAT) per module.

What happens: When you purchase this offer, we will contact you to find out your preferred dates for each course. See Events Calendar for trainings already scheduled. We are always adding new dates and you don’t have to settle on your choices straight away.

Description

Clean for Teams is an entry-level workshop / webinar series for those wishing to experience Systemic Modelling - a new way for people to learn about one another in groups, enabling them to move away from contempt and competition and towards curiosity and collaboration.

Our facilitators will treat you as though you are a ‘real’ team, encouraging you to notice patterns in yourself and others and to collaborate so that each of you is learning at your best within a diverse group. In this way, you’ll be a recipient of Systemic Modelling (rather than a facilitator) and you will gain a direct experience of the benefits and challenges of being facilitated cleanly.

You may, of course, ask any questions about what the facilitators are doing and you can expect to take away ideas for putting what you’re learning into practice with your own groups or teams.

Systemic Modelling is the brainchild of Caitlin Walker, author of From Contempt to Curiosity. When a few clean questions led her to a greater understanding of herself and a dramatic shift in her life, she decided to adapt the one-to-one therapeutic method developed by David Grove to create a robust methodology that would work for groups and organisations.

Now you can experience the power of these questions – and Caitlin’s group methodology – for yourself in this fabulous, fascinating and fast-moving 2-day workshop or via 4 x 3.5-hour interactive Zoom sessions.

Expand description

Clean Language was devised by clinical psychologist David Grove to enable people to explore their own and others’ perceptions. Rather than assume we know what someone means when they use a particular word, gesture or intonation, we can use clean questions to enquire into their experience. In a therapeutic context, David used clean questions to help people to get in touch with their unconscious metaphors and ingrained patterns underpinning their everyday experiences - and to be able to change these at a deep level.

Caitlin recognised that the information that emerges when people are asked clean questions will often be new – not just to the listener, but to the person who’s experience it is. In a group situation, everyone gets to know that information. This in turn can help people to:

  • Be more curious, deeply listen to one another, and work together in a respectful way
  • Learn about one another’s strengths and weaknesses
  • Sort out disagreements or conflicts by increasing their understanding of different perspectives
  • Clarify their thinking
  • Reveal assumptions so that conversations are held at a level everyone can understand
  • Discover hidden values
  • Build shared models of understanding

Who is it for?

  • Leaders, Coaches, Teachers, Managers, HR Professionals, Consultants, Agile Coaches
  • Youth Workers, Health Workers, Family Therapists, Team supervisors, Group Facilitators
  • Newcomers to Clean Language
  • Anyone who uses Clean Language with individuals and wants to learn how to use it with teams, groups and organisations
  • Anyone seeking their own personal development

What will I gain?

  • Learn how to ask David Grove’s clean questions to develop your own ideas and those of others.
  • Unpack your own models for processes such as decision-making, time-management and learning at your best’ – and discover the unconscious patterns you live by.
  • Identify when you are / are not in a good state for learning & creativity.
  • Detect the judgments you make about others, separate these from actual behaviours and use this information to master the art of Clean Feedback.
  • Become more aware of what needs to happen for you to stay in a good learning state - and what compromises you may have to make to ensure others can stay in theirs.
  • Design your own developmental tasks - tiny actions that can make a big difference as you step outside your comfort zone a little.
  • Find out what happens as people’s patterns emerge and when their values are compromised – this is when the tools really come into their own.
  • Learn what triggers you to go into drama, what drama position(s) you tend to take - and how you can use this information to recognise what’s important to you.
  • Learn how to use the Clean Change Cycle (outcome, action, feedback) to coach someone off the Drama Triangle.
  • Gain multiple ideas for facilitating others, whether you work with individuals or teams.
  • Learn how this methodology has been used in business, education, health and community setting
  • Receive a workbook where each model is explained and with plenty of space to write your own notes.

Progression

You can attend this workshop as a stand-alone event. It also serves as a pre-requisite for joining our Systemic Modelling Rolling Programme for group facilitators where you can:

  • Practise leading the group
  • Build your skills in the nuances of clean group facilitation
  • Gain invaluable feedback from peers and trainers
  • Get your skills assessed and become a Certified Systemic Modeller at Level 0
  • This is followed by Level 1 where we go into more detail on all the models and how they fit together

Testimonials

I have just completed 'Clean for Teams' and have been inspired and astounded by the power of this process. If you are a manager or leader of a group or team you will not fail to gain clarity, understanding and appreciation of this process. I felt inspired and in awe of the trainers in the way they delivered and merged the learning involved so that as participants we all learnt in the way that felt best for us individually whilst developing our understanding of the group process. Highly recommended to anyone who works with teams or aspires to in the future.

Lisa Sturge, Coach

Excellent blend of theory and practice with some useful models and techniques - and a great bunch of delegates to work with. I got lots of really practical advice from Caitlin.

Sally Bean

I have attended two online courses with Marian - Clean for Team and Clean Approaches for Coaches. I appreciate Marian’s teaching very much. First, she delivers the theory part very clear and succinct, second, she uses examples and demo to illustrate the application in practice. Thirdly, she is very attentive to our questions, she gives clear and convincing answers based on her rich experience and solid understanding of the theory. She is a role model for Clean Language. She has inspired me to further study Clean Language as an important approach within my coaching practice.

This is a #DramaFree event especially for Christmas.

Description

Are you finding it difficult to manage relationships? Always stressed out? Feeling frustrated or defeated? Surrounded by conflict, blame and repeating problems instead of clear thinking, agreement and action? Would you like some new tools and strategies to change the way you’re thinking about and reacting to the drama situations you find yourself in?

Creating #DramaFree Conversations is designed to help you reduce unnecessary conflict in your life, to move from drama to calm collaboration – at work, at home and in your community.

We have spent over 20 years supporting individuals and groups to detect the dramas they’re in or the dramas other people are trying to get them into.

During this workshop we will offer tools, including clean questions, to encourage you to get curious about your dramas, unpack the key pieces, separate evidence from inference, come to understand what is actually happening and your part in it.

From this position of clarity, it’s possible to shift your attention towards what you would like to have happen instead. Just the act of unpacking drama can allow you to think and breathe more freely and become more creative in the options available to you.

You can’t always get what you want but you can take actions you are proud of. You don’t have to be going around the same old dramas day in and day out and wearing out your goodwill and patience.
