What’s involved?
A Clean Supervision session can take one of two forms...
- Bring a transcript, audio or video of yourself working as a Clean Facilitator with a client (with their permission)*. We go through it together, confirming what you paid attention to and what worked well, and examining what you may have missed and other directions the session could have taken.
- Bring an issue relating to a client and get some clean facilitation to help you gain insights into what is happening and other ideas or principles you might employ.
Many supervision sessions are a combination of the above. We may start out looking at a transcript, for example, and if / when this highlights an issue that we need to spend some time on, that can be done cleanly. We will look at how your patterns as a facilitator can have an effect on client interactions and client outcomes.
As with all Clean Learning services, how you use the session time is up to you.
A Clean Supervision session can be face-to-face, on the phone or via Skype.
*Tell your clients that you may be discussing your work with your supervisor. All of our discussions are confidential.
Transcribing Your Sessions
You will get the most benefit from your supervision if you transcribe your sessions beforehand. Typing up your own work means listening to it in a different way, and you get to hear more of the nuances of a client's logic, or any anomolies in the way you ask the questions. This means you come to the supervision session with some ideas of your own about what you could have done differently. It also means that we can easily 'jump' between different parts of the session, seeing how one metaphor is related to another (for example). With audio or video, a lot of the session can be taken up with us listening or watching to you working in 'real time', which reduces the time for analysis / feedback.
However, we appreciate that not everyone has the time to do their own transcribing, so we offer a transcription service. You send us the audio / video, and we will transcribe it for you. The cost of this service is 80 pence per session minute - so if you work with someone for an hour, you can get that session transcribed for £48.
