Marian Way
Marian founded Clean Learning* in 2001.This was following a successful career as a maths teacher, then many years developing and delivering world-famous learning programmes with an international organisation. She has become an expert Clean facilitator, is an adept modeller, a programme writer and an inspirational trainer. Marian is currently writing a book about Clean Language for coaches.
Marian designs our programmes and workbooks. She leads workshops and teaches on all our courses. She's trained in Great Britain, Russia, Australia and the USA. Marian also offers coaching and coaching supervision. She co-hosts our teleseminars with Sharon. Marian is a recognised Clean Assessor.

Sharon Small
Sharon has a B.S. in Psychology with an emphasis in Jungian symbolism. She was the first Certified Clean Facilitator in North America, has been working with Marian since 2008, and running trainings in the US since 2010. Sharon would like to see Symbolic Modeling and everything Clean take firm roots in North America. Sharon is a vibrant and engaging trainer with masses of energy. She is able to convey the “how to” of Clean in an accessible and friendly way.
Sharon runs our 1-Day Introduction, our Clean Facilitator Programme and Clean Learning Journeys in California. She also offers coaching and co-hosts our regular free teleseminars with Marian. Sharon is a recognised Clean Assessor.
Lesley Symons
Lesley has been facilitating and training groups for over 7 years. As a coach, trainer and facilitator she works in the corporate sector and has facilitated in Europe, Australia and New Zealand. In Australia Lesley has led trainings for the Australian Learning and Teaching Council in the tertiary education sector. Lesley is a member of the Association for Coaching (MAC) Psychotherapy and Counselling Association of Australia (MPACFA) and has a BAppSocSc and Cert lV10 in Training and Assessment.
Lesley runs introductory workshops, a practice group and teleseminars in Australia.
Penny Tompkins
Penny Tompkins co-developed Symbolic Modelling which incorporates the Clean Language of David Grove, and is co-author of Metaphors in Mind: Transformation through Symbolic Modelling and a training DVD, A Strange and Strong Sensation. She is a leader in the field of autogenic metaphor and systemic change, and is a psychotherapist registered with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). She is a supervisor, coach in business, and international trainer.
Penny co-hosts Discover Your Assertive Self with Marian and often assists on our Clean Facilitator Programme. Penny is a recognised Clean Assessor.
Phil Swallow
Phil first experienced Clean Language on one of David Grove's 'Personal Journey' retreats. He became fascinated with how to work cleanly with people so they can know their own experience, clean of the facilitator's assumptions and interpretation. Now specialising in Symbolic Modelling and Clean Space, he has trained, supervised and assessed Clean practitioners in English and French and coached clients in several languages. Phil also runs cleanforum.com, a free Clean resource.
Phil contributes to our course and workbook design. He is a recognised Clean Assessor and designed our assessment process. He regularly assesses Clean Learning candidates.
Henk Kloor
A skilled facilitator and coach, Henk works with senior executives, leaders and teams. With an MBA and a Diploma in Business Economics, Henk has been active in management training, interim management, creative thinking and developing scenarios since 1995. His strong interpersonal skills, pragmatic approach and passion for working with people help him get great results. He’s a Certified Clean facilitator and uses Clean, NLP and other change methodologies in his work.
Henk co-hosts Discover Your Assertive Self in Holland, with his partner Edith.
Cheryl Winter
Cheryl is an experienced trainer and coach with a background in financial services training. After meeting David Grove in 2006 she chose to submerge herself in clean and re-train as a coach. Currently she works one-to-one in education and the private sector. Her passion for great coaching has led her to co-design and tutor for the PGCE in Mentoring and Coaching at Liverpool John Moores University, where many of the clean principles are applied throughout the university with staff and students. As well as the Clean Learning coaching and training, Cheryl runs clean programmes with Caitlin Walker of Training Attention, assisting teams and groups to work at their best even more of the time. Cheryl is a Fellow of the CIPD, NLP Master Practitioner, ILM Certified Coach and Dyslexia Coach. She is also a Magical Spelling™ Tutor and Trainer.
